The Art & Practice of Slowing Down: Qigong for Busy Professionals

Our focus on wellness this quarter continues with our February First Friday Luncheon dedicated to mindfulness and movement through the practice of Qigong -- a centuries-old system of coordinated body-posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for the purposes of optimal health and spirituality. Lives are hectic and societal constraints are often difficult to manage. Through Qigong practice, participants reawaken their own intuitive wisdom and begin to discover the happiest, healthiest versions of themselves.

Attendees will be introduced to a variety of traditional Chinese medicine concepts and will learn Qigong energy movements that they can practice at home for personal wellness.

Luncheon attendees are encouraged to wear professional attire that will allow for easy, chair-based movements, as our presenter will demonstrate a few simple Qigong techniques for practical takeaways.  Qigong is relevant to everyone, regardless of age or ability level. The benefits of practice are entirely up to the participant!

About the Presenter:
Allison Lim is the Editor of Online Media at Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation in New York City. As primary blog writer and program content contributor, she has been part of the TCMWF healing community for many years. She is a certified Dragon’s Way Qigong® Instructor and currently teaches classes for adults and children at The Mindful Cafe in Ramsey as well as other locations in the Ridgewood, NJ area.

For over a decade prior to working with TCM World Foundation, Allison was immersed in the deadline-driven world of educational publishing, writing for organizations such as National Geographic Learning, Scholastic, and TOMS Shoes, among others.

Once she entered the Dragon's Way Qigong instructor training program, Allison began to see profound changes within herself and made intense connections with the energy behind the program. She wholeheartedly supports the principle that the body has the innate ability to self-heal, understanding that if it has the power to manifest a condition, it also holds the keys to correct it.  Learn more here:  www.findinginnerjoy.com

BCPWN wishes to thank member, Lynn Bello, and The Mindful Cafe & Learning Center in Ramsey, NJ for sponsoring this Luncheon.
