Learn effective communication strategies from the pros, Kathryn Lancioni of Presenting Perfection and Jessica Bush of Tutor Doctor of North Jersey

Friday, March 1, 2024

12:30pm - 2:30pm

Join BCWPN on Friday, March 1st, for this insightful and informative lunch featuring Kathryn Lancioni of Presenting Perfection and Jessica Bush of Tutor Doctor of North Jersey. We will explore effective communication strategies and techniques for home, the workplace, and beyond. You'll walk away with an understanding of how and why these communication styles vary, an appreciation for the importance of being present and imploring active listening, as well as knowledge of how to interpret non-verbal cues to yield more successful communication transactions.

About Kathryn Lancioni: With more than twenty years of experience in the fields of public relations, investor relations, corporate communication and education, Ms. Lancioni has worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds on understanding the nuances of presenting and speaking. During this time, she has worked as a journalist, a public/investor relations executive and as a college professor.

In the early 1990s, Ms. Lancioni worked as a journalist for a variety of trade and business publications including Ziff-Davis’ PC Sources, PC Magazine and Crain’s New York Business. After several years in journalism, she moved into the public relations arena.

Since the mid-1990s, Ms. Lancioni has worked with dozens of blue-chip and emerging companies in conquering their public and investor relations issues. Her clients have included: Analog Devices, Deloitte Touche, Forbes, Hoover's, IBM, Iridium, IntelliSpace, LookSmart, Monroe Litho, NCR, PanAmSat and UPS. This work has ranged from press/investor relations to media training, presentation training, branding, corporate strategy, crisis communication and merger communication.

About Jessica Bush: For Jessica, “making learning personal” is not just a slogan – it’s the foundation on which she has built Tutor Doctor of North Jersey focusing in-person in Northwestern Bergen County NJ, and also in parts of Rhode Island, going into their 11th year.

Jessica's instincts for uncovering the unique needs and desires of students and their families – and how deeply she cares about helping them achieve their dreams – have long been the hallmarks of her tutoring business. Jessica understands that learning is often about more than just mastering academics.

Whether it’s test anxiety or school avoidance, she is sensitive to the range of issues students struggle with today. Her expertise in helping families address these concerns holistically – and doing what it takes to meet their needs – is the reason why Tutor Doctor North Jersey has become the go-to resource for those with complex learning challenges that are outside of the mainstream.

Her commitment to helping others and sensitivity to mental health advocacy is something Jessica learned from her mother, and she credits her father with her love of art. She spent over 25 years selling fine art and photography to collectors and galleries around the world, and her innate ability to sense the emotional connection between artists and the work they collect was the secret to her success.

Weaving together these twin legacies, Jessica sees the emotional connection between each student and their learning progress and seeks creative, out-of-the-box solutions to helping them overcome even the most difficult challenges.
